Setting the table for Turkey Day doesn’t have to be complicated. Just ask the staff at Strawberry Fields Flowers & Finds in the Fan.
Brenna, Casey and owner, Deanna King, have styled lots of tables and displays, always incorporating fresh flowers, objects and natural elements from the outdoors.
This Thanksgiving I’ve taken inspiration from their tablescape pictured above. They created it for a recent in-store demonstration.
I love how the clementines are stacked in cylinders, providing height and a flare of color. The filled vases contrast colorfully with softly bristled ferns and etched votives to create a textural feast. The table’s amaryllis bulbs promise happy blossoms for the holidays.
Another fall table setting prepared for the demonstration skillfully mingled pine cones, pomegranates and berried-branches — all inexpensive, or free, items that bring the natural world to the table. Antlers and silver-green succulents took the design up a notch, combining in a modern and memorable seasonal mélange.
Need more tablescaping inspiration? Strawberry Fields will host another demonstration on Saturday, Dec. 6. Called “Deck your Mantle,” the event is free and starts at 11 a.m.
On Wednesday, Dec. 10, you can join the staff and others for an interactive workshop. The class, “Winter Wonderland Wreaths,” will start at 6 p.m. The cost is $50 for instruction and materials.
