R•Home Managing Editor Jessica Ronky Haddad and I are just back from High Point Market, which wrapped up April 21. We saw loads of eye-catching items, along with Richmond designers and store owners.
One décor trend that’s kickin’ it is heavy metal. We spotted great “heavy metal” lighting and accessories seemingly sprung from the ’80s, but back with a twist.
If you’re looking for examples check out my heavy metal-themed piece in this month’s issue of Richmond magazine. In the Living section, you’ll find two pages of home decor items that salute this trend, along with a nod to fringed suede jackets and to Metallica. (A shout out to Justin Vaughan, Richmond magazine’s senior art director, whose head-banging collection of ’80s albums and clothes are awesome.)
We’ll have much more on Market trends and local designers’ takes from this spring’s market in R●HOME’s summer issue. For now, here are eight more heavy metal items.
