Twenty-five years ago, Mongrel, Richmond’s much-loved, longtime “Best-of” award-winning card and gift shop, opened in Carytown.
There’s a lot to celebrate – 25 years! – and tons of new stuff in the store to explore: soaps, candles, agendas, toys, books, tchotchkes and must-haves galore.
Tomorrow, Saturday, July 16, is the the big party. Billed as “Mongrel Day,” the silver anniversary shindig will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the shop at 2924 W. Cary St. There will be plenty of treats, discounts, giveaways, prize drawings and more. There’s also a cool anniversary T-shirt for sale.
Shown above is one of my fresh in-store faves: Coconut, avocado and coffee rainforest-certified soaps by Modern Wash ($9). The coconut one is superb.
