Curtain Call, the annual home décor consignment sale featuring high-end items, begins March 5 in the Canterbury Shopping Center at 10616 Patterson Ave.
The much-anticipated sale is now in its 19th year and led by Angie Furbee and Kimberly Dawson. They’re still accepting items for the upcoming sale. Last year, they checked in 6,000 items, from furniture, accessories, lamps and rugs to custom bedding and headboards, tableware and yes, curtains.
Consigning is stress-free. Come by Feb. 17 and on Feb. 19 through 21 with items to consign. They’ll also accept pieces throughout the sale which runs from March 5 to 13.
Consigners receive 50 percent of sale prices and are invited to a private sale the night before the opening. “We make consigning easy in a very friendly, warm and welcoming environment,” Furbee says.
She is excited about having even more high-end items this year. “We are thrilled to have more designer furniture, original art, and fine china and crystal,” she says. “We've added a wall of art which truly showcases all the beautiful pieces of art we receive.” Two items, shown above, will be available: a newly recovered grey loveseat and an Oriental rug.
The sale draws interest from well beyond Richmond. “We get calls or emails on a weekly basis from all over the country about our event," Furbee says. "It has grown to a following of over 5,000 people mostly through word of mouth."
She and Dawson have long been excited about offering items for all budgets. Once again, prices will range from $5 to $1,500.
Curtain Call’s Facebook page is updated frequently and is a great way to preview items. On the last day of the sale, called “Last Call,” all remaining items are 40 percent off.
