For some brides, stock invitations just don't pair well with their wedding vision. That's where Elle Paper comes in. "Wedding invitations are often the first glimpse of what people are going to see on your wedding day," says the company's owner, who goes by the name Elle. "My goal is to create an invitation where someone gets it in the mail, and they say ‘Wow, I want to go to this wedding!' "
Started five years ago after Elle designed custom invitations for a friend's wedding, the company, which has a by-appointment studio at 10015 W. Broad St., has grown quickly by word of mouth.
One bride who was going to be married on a beach wanted invitations that were as nontraditional as her wedding. They came up with a design that included the bride's turquoise-colored invitation inside a box with a starfish. Elle Paper also offers wedding programs, place cards, table numbers, save-the-date cards and pockets that keep inserts like directions and response cards all neatly organized.
