These days, brides need to stretch their dollars as far as they can go — yet many still crave a wedding with Martha Stewart's flair. Richmond-based event planner Courtney Spencer, 29, says she wants her blog, Little White Book, to demonstrate that brides can have a Southern-chic wedding on a budget.
In a list of Top 100 wedding blogs by Alltop.com, Little White Book has an international following and features photos of Southern-style weddings sent in by brides from all over the country, including Richmond. Spencer's blog features decoration tips from brides, pointers on how to incorporate recent trends into your big day and advice from Richmond vendors.
"My readers are probably not the sort who you'll find at a bridal showcase. They want handmade details, originality, a wedding that tells their story and reflects them," says Spencer, who realizes that while some brides want the large wedding, others are looking for a more personal and economical way to celebrate.
Featuring everything from a wedding that cost $60,000 to another that was under $8,000 (in which tattoos were exchanged in place of wedding bands), Little White Book shows that weddings can be creative and elegant within many price ranges.
