Virginia Secretary of Education (and former Virginia first lady) Anne Holton will be among the speakers interpreting this year’s TEDxRVA theme: "Uncommon" at the third annual event on Friday, April 10, at the Carpenter Theatre at Richmond CenterStage. Others include Lucinda Scala Quinn, editorial director for food and entertaining with Martha Stewart Living; Will Baker, CEO of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation; National Geographic filmmaker and conservationist Trip Jennings; Ellen Cockerham, executive director of Classical Revoluation RVA; planetary scientist Joel Levine; multicultural performers Alex Mejias and Rashad Lowrey, and more.
TEDxRVA will also partner with Richmond restaurants and vendors like Lamplighter Roasting Co., Goatocado and King of Pops to provide attendees with morning, noon and reception food and snacks that will be included in the $50 ticket price.
“All of the vendors will be set up like a street feast on Sixth [Street]," says Risa Gomez, spokeswoman for TEDxRVA. “It’s going to be our own little food avenue.” Registration for the daylong event begins at 7:30 a.m., and the first session starts at 9 a.m.
