Presenting vivid abstracts alongside colorful Richmond cityscapes, Joanna Tyka combines the contemporary and the traditional in her upcoming show, “CONTRAdiction,” at Art Works on Hull Street.
A native of Poland, Tyka lived in Canada, France, and Florida before moving to Virginia. She sees Richmond’s contrast between its historical architecture and modern art scene as a beautiful contradiction.
