For a new take on some classic fairy tales, check out the inaugural Ashland Summer Theatre Festival on Aug. 13.
Headed by Louise Ricks, artistic director of the Whistle Stop Theatre Co., the festival includes three performances each of “Beauty and the Beast Tamer,” “Peter Pan: When Wendy Grew Up,” and “Alice in Wonderland” Aug. 13 at noon, 2 and 4 p.m.
“With these stories, I was really attracted to the themes of selflessness and community, and that’s something that we see all the time in Ashland,” Ricks says.
Performances will be held at multiple venues. Family packages for all three shows are $25. Individual tickets are $5 per show or $10 for all three. whistlestoptheatre.weebly.com
