A showcase for outdoor recreation, the annual Dominion Riverrock brings as many as 65,000 people to the downtown riverfront to watch or participate in activities such as kayaking, dirt cycling, bouldering, slacklining, trail running and dog jumping. Events will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on May 15 with the 5Point Film Festival, a series of short adventure documentaries, free at the Byrd Theatre. At Brown's Island, music headliners The Infamous Stringdusters and Matisyahu will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 7:45 p.m. Saturday, respectively, with nine other acts filling the concert stage Friday to Sunday. In a project led by Art on Wheels, military veterans will help make a large relief sculpture using symbolic objects. Events are free to watch, and attendees can try new activities at the Interactive Village tents. dominionriverrock.com
