From Sept. 15 to Oct. 8, Quill Theatre will revamp an old story: Stephen Dietz’s adaptation of “Dracula,” based on the classic Bram Stoker novel, shows at the Dominion Arts Center’s Libby S. Gottwald Playhouse.
Axle Burtness, as the undead one, leads the cast directed by theater veteran Daniel Moore. “Based on my knowledge of other adaptations, Dietz remains closest to the novel,” says Moore. Rounding out the cast is Thomas Cunningham as vampire-hunter Van Helsing, Rebecca Turner as Mina Harker, who pulls the whole story together, and Billy-Christopher Maupin as Dr. John Seward, the administrator of the asylum where Renfield, played by John Mincks, is institutionalized.
$20 to $30. 340-0115 or quilltheatre.org.
