It’s no coincidence that the Science Museum of Virginia’s newest exhibition, “Bikes: Science on Two Wheels,” runs through the final day of the UCI Road World Championships, to be held in Richmond from Sept. 19 to 27. Visitors can see the evolution of the bicycle, from the historic penny-farthing (with a huge front wheel) to modern sporting bikes. Plus, check out “Science After Dark,” when bike safety and repair clinics will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on June 19, July 17 and Aug. 21. Bike-themed movies will also be screened during the Friday events, including Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Included with general admission of $11. 864-1400 or smv.org.
