A familiar trio of ghosts will undergo a variation in the Henley Street Theatre/Richmond Shakespeare premiere of local playwright Bo Wilson’s adaptation, Mr. Dickens’ Christmas Carol, through Dec. 21 at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Grace Street Theater. The show features a cast and crew of some of Richmond’s finer board-trodders, including director Gary Hopper, and actors Andrew J. Hamm, Joe Pabst, Jeff Clevenger and Rebecca Anne Muhleman. The performers take on several roles, with Hamm playing both Dickens and Scrooge. That transformation alone is intriguing. Managing Director Jacquie O’Connor says that use of projections and other cinematographic sleights of hand will enhance the mystery and mood. $15 to $30. 340-0115 or henleystreettheatre.org
