All right, marathon shoppers, get ready because there are two events you need to hit tomorrow.
First is Spring Bada-Bing. This indie craft show features 50 local, regional and national artists. In previous years, I’ve scooped up hand-hammered silver earrings, homemade clutches, a ring featuring tiny photos of peacock feathers, vintage flowers turned into pendants, and even one year, a doughnut charm bracelet. Don’t miss your chance to browse all the inspired items. It runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and it’s at Hardywood, so you can even bring your man along and distract him with beer while you buy things.
Also tomorrow, Viva-la-Local, the nine-day Spring Marketplace at Hallsey in Midlothian (running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.), kicks off. Viva-la-Local is a traveling community market that sponsors various shopping events around Richmond promoting local talent and small businesses focused on handmade, contemporary and unique arts and furnishings. This event is held in 10 model homes and at 12 vendors, including artists, chocolatiers, antiques, jewelry, stationery and more. I can’t wait to check it out.
