Kathryn Wiley carried four of her five children in slings when they were infants. "Sling babies are more content," the 37-year-old Church Hill resident attests. In 2011, Wiley purchased Los Angeles-based company Rockin' Baby and moved the baby-sling business to a production space at Rocketts Landing, but she wanted to do more than sell infant accessories. "I wanted to feel engaged socially," she says. In a program she calls Mother-to-Mother, Wiley donates one sling to a mother in Haiti for every one that she sells. Since starting the program, the company has donated about 2,500 slings. For more information, call 236-2229 or visit rockinbaby.com .
