Cold Harbor Antiques Mall in Mechanicsville is hosting an Open House this Sunday, Nov. 23 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
It’s a great time of year to shop their 10,000 square foot store, which is full of furniture, china, glassware, collectibles and more.
With house and party guests on their way, I’m always looking for antique pieces, new and old, that can spruce up a guest room or tabletops. I also love to give vintage gifts. They often have histories that can’t be beat.
One item that’s captured my imagination at Cold Harbor is the bronzed Victorian boots pictured. They’re $35 and would make a great conversation starter.
And here’s a neat gift idea for a gent: The mall just acquired a travel bar from 1968. It’s smartly fitted with glasses and bar accessories, all contained in a handsome suitcase.
Two blond chests and a vanity writing desk also attract my interest. They’re newly arrived and vintage. The chests are $195 each and smartly boast four drawers topped with a two-door cabinet. How about one or two of them in a bedroom?
